INSPO: Tattoos

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

I was thinking of putting the blog content in some order for a while now but had a though time making up my mind about what I wanted to do. If I start explaining we won't come far so I won't ever try. (That's probably the first time I refused to tell you everything about everything here on the blog!)
So, what you really need to know is that I decided to do some features here on the blog regularly.
Outfit posts will be run as usual whenever I have the time or the need to post them, so there will be no changes there, but I will post some other things as well and you'll find out about these as we go.
Today I'll introduce you to INSPO posts that will be published every Tuesday...
I've done them already and you can click on the inspiration label underneath the title to see all of them, but I decided to do one each week as they are much appreciated and as I love to do those as well.

So, for an ice breaker, I decided tattoos should be it.
I don't have a tattoo folder on my computer but have tons of photos liked on several platforms and already know which ones are my favourites so why not show them to you?
I am a fan of small tattoos, either a symbol or a word (maybe even a short quote) placed on the arm or around the neck. Something far from generic, that you can fully explain only to certain people.

Where do you stand on tattoos?

STREETSTYLE HIGHLIGHTS 2012

Thursday, December 27, 2012

A new year is coming in four days and it would be such a shame not to look back at some of the most beautiful moments that happened on the streets of our four favourite cities in the world. I won't give you a list of trends that occupied our minds (and wallets) or say who was the best or worst dressed - there will be plenty of sites and magazines offering you info on that.
Instead, I'll be totally biased as always and show you some of the girls that made my heart sparkle a little more during the fashion year of twenty-twelve.

Elena Perminova. Miroslava Duma. Rumi Neely. Leigh Lazark. Natasha Goldenberg. Caroline Issa.

Elena Perminova
aka the russian bon bon who delights me with her immaculate taste and almost-always amazingly brave choices

Miroslava Duma

her petite frame allows her to wear everything and anything

Neli Rumi

one of my favourite bloggers - her simple looks amaze me

Leigh Lezark
rock n roll + love her hair

Natasha Goldenberg
a new star on the fashion sky

Caroline Issa
'If Chanel made management consultants, they would look like Issa.' (the Telegraph)

HAIR INSPO

Thursday, December 6, 2012

When you hair is so short it cannot be shorter for as long as mine has been, it leaves you wanting to experiment with everything there is somehow connected to hairdos - different styles, products, hairdyes, even bobby pins are so much fun to pick when you come into drugstores.
The only problem is you gotta wait a long time for it to grow to a lenght where you can actually do something with it. So you wait.
... (for months)
And then one day you're done with waiting and browse Youtube and other magical places on the internet like a maniac riding only on M&Ms to find out that, amazingly, there are several perfectly easy-to-do-but-yet-still-pretty hairstyles you can actually DIY.
Okay, it's still early for braids, but if your hair is of medium lenght (Is this even the right expression?!) (This hair stuff is complicated, no wonder I cut it off at some point) these three pics can serve as a guide.
If I was able to do these all by myself (And I'm as far from a pedant person as anyone) than further explanations are absolutely redundant.

INSPO: CHILLY MOODBOARD

Friday, November 16, 2012

What I'll be trying /experimenting with/end up wearing this chilly season. (Finally! Yeah!)
Layers. Loads of non-colors. Bejeweled headbands. Hats. Elegance.

On that note...
Also currently I'm super crazy about tatoos, beautiful winter nights that are about to happen, (well they'll start happening soon, right? I mean it's cold enough. Finally!!!), super strong make up, matte nailpolish...

It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside...

You know what... I never understood why we're always bombarded with piles of images of the summer and the sea. I mean - the summer's a synonym for freedom, and partying, and joy - I get that, but winter is love. Everything about it always makes me strive to be better. To achieve. To outdo myself.
Oh I wish you could feel my joy for this magnificent time of the year. I hope this mish-mash of a moodboard helps. (I know how much you love this kind of posts!)

Oh, and am I the only one who's a hot chocolate freak?

INSPO: 24/7

Thursday, October 25, 2012

This is a totally random so inspired post. One I will try to write in under an hour so I can watch Masterchef and my PMS's kicking in so food's always had a good nerve calming effect, even when it's virtual.
Why am I even telling you this? Oh yeah, it's that college means rain and rain means boredom and boredom means lack of creativity and lack of creativity means I kinda look like a nerd most of the time in my well-paired blazer & jeans combo. A chic nerd, I try to be, but still - nerds are nerds.
My life's pretty much a mish mash of everything and anything as I'm trying to establish myself in this new weird arena where I'm actually required to study and all of my friends are so busy I see them as much as when I'm out of the country. So for now (read: until the weekend when I'll make a robot to take my photos if necessary) this totally you'll-find-here-everything-you-need-right-now post will do.
Totally related to the post: I kind of realized I wanted to show you my obsessions with #1 jumpers, #2 cool jeans, and so unexpected #3 boots (shooooooes!!) while I was shopping with my mom a few days ago. When we were driving home, I told her: 'See, I totally grew up. Not a single dress in these bags. You proud?' (She was, that was a first)

And, just a quick but big thank you to all of you who left comments on the latest post. No, actually, to all who leave comments. Period.
You are all so amazing, and today I was going through a few last posts and realized how opinions differ amongst you, how appreciative you all are and how a lot of you click on every single post and leave adorable messages. Thank you thank you thank you x million.

XOXO,
Lucija

Hello fall...

Friday, September 28, 2012

Okay, here's the recipe for fall:
pick the perfect shade of strong, dark lipstick, find yourself a gorgeous man, enjoy some new silhouettes and act as you're a born aristocrat.

Not such a big deal, huh?
Okay, let's be serious for just a moment (cause if I really wanted my blog to be all serious, I would be writing about Toddlers & Tiaras) and talk about what fall's offering. And that, to be completely blunt, is a lot. You can be as picky as you wish, you'll still be able to put your finger on that one trend that you'll love and cherish until the flowers bloom somewhere in March and you stop throwing so much fabric on your body yet once again.

This season it's all about finding proportions that suit you - if you're rather slender, you can play with trends like combining a wide long skirt with a loose sweater (so often seen on runways) and if you're curvy you can slip into a peplum top paired with a just-right pair of leather pants. As long as you're sure which route you wanna take this season, you're able to explore all the options. And by route I mean just think of what mood you want to set for yourself - is it fierce, feminine, bold, rich?
For me, fall's gonna be about less color, more sharpness put into looks, and tailored, polished pieces. My ultimate to-buy items right now are:
a pair of perfect ankle boots, a great black leather bag, peplum dress and a rich dark, feminine coat.

LIL THINGS

Saturday, August 25, 2012

If you started reading the title and thought I'm such a big fan of Lil Wayne that I'm gonna do a post about him... well, no. (And don't ever expect me to) Just no. For the sake of it, don't ever expect me to do a post about a pop star. (Yeah, yeah, I know he's not singing pop songs, but it's all starting to sound the same, doesn't it?)

The last couple of days have been quite a rollercoaster and, to be honest, I didn't have a slightest intention to be occupied with the blog. I did have time, the energy was missing. Power-saving mode? Maybe.
I think it was just that my horoscope wasn't that full of sunshine as usual. But karma will do its job and I'll be on track soon, I guess. So, to finish this completely out-of-the-blue and completely incomprehensible post - it's for me. Ha! Selfish. Uterrly. Lil things = things that make me happy.
They'll probably cheer you up, too - if so, leave me cute comments. (Those will be much appreciated)

When I feel down, the first thing I do when I go out (whether it's a coffee date or school or something else) is I wear high heels. They change how you walk and sometimes, they can also change how you see the world.
Also, this photo was taken during a photoshoot at Pag this summer - we got up at dawn to get the most out of photos and it was one of the funniest, most perfect mornings filled with runing in heels, eating breakfast at the beach and changing outfits in the middle of the street.
Memories meet future - kinda.

This was actually shot a few days ago after I got home from a four-day sleepover at my friend's house. Getting your hair braided by your friends and having the perfect hairdo for the day? Uh huh, magic. (Thanks Ana ;))

My stack of Vogue issues. Well, actually this is one part of the stack, the one I was using to get the inspiration lately... If I tried to get a shot of all the issues, I should probably do it from the helicopter.
Okay, the point: (although I don't know if it this really needed a caption) ultimate pleasure.

You all know about the new trend... it actually started as a summer thing, but I think it's gonna last much longer. Friendship bracelets.
I here have some atypical ones, but I don't think it's the material that matter, but the meaning.

Ohhh, and for the end - a night shot of Primošten. I stummbled upon this one a few days ago when I was looking for some other photo and it reminded me of good times, bad times, spontanity (as it wasn't a plan to shoot the city, but my crew on the beach while we were having fun... so in the end, I was lying on the beach completely still - no tripod - to capture the beatuy) and travels I have planned for the future.

The only thing left for me to do is to turn up the music and start dancing. ;)

XOXO,
Lucija

Fashionista crush: ERIKA BEARMAN

Sunday, August 12, 2012

Erika Bearman aka OscarPRGirl is the first person I started following on Twitter. A 29-year-old director of communications has it all.
What makes her the perfect Oscar de la Renta girl is her love for ballgown skirts (and who does these better than Oscar?!), her natural beauty and the ability to tweet, pin and post on Tumblr, FB and Instagram almost non-stop. Since 2010 she tweeted more than 10,000 times and what makes the whole thing interesting - she doesn't really keep her distance, but introduces herself personally while always representing the brand at its best. What I love most about the whole idea is the time of fashion week when all the stalkers get the inside scoop of the collection that is yet to be shown to the creme de la creme of fashion world.
She's the ultimate girl to look up to for all those younger than 25, and just the girl who just might make you want to quit your day job if you're a bit older.

But enough about my blabing about her - she's very well able to blab herself. (+ collages ;)

@OscarPRGirl: excuse me while I make this important call about a bikini
@OscarPRGirl:
or a real one. "@sartorialgirl: always wear your invisible crown."

@OscarPRGirl: home is where your clothes are.

@OscarPRGirl: I'm under the impression that if you like your outfit you can pretty much tackle anything.
@OscarPRGirl: there is no known cure for the fashion obsessed.

@OscarPRGirl: honestly if you can't wear a sequin bandeau I don't want to go.
@OscarPRGirl: do I have a dog? I don't even have a plant.
@OscarPRGirl: Oscar is playing bridge. he is going to call me back.
