INSPO: CHILLY MOODBOARD

Friday, November 16, 2012

What I'll be trying /experimenting with/end up wearing this chilly season. (Finally! Yeah!)
Layers. Loads of non-colors. Bejeweled headbands. Hats. Elegance.

On that note...
Also currently I'm super crazy about tatoos, beautiful winter nights that are about to happen, (well they'll start happening soon, right? I mean it's cold enough. Finally!!!), super strong make up, matte nailpolish...

It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside...

You know what... I never understood why we're always bombarded with piles of images of the summer and the sea. I mean - the summer's a synonym for freedom, and partying, and joy - I get that, but winter is love. Everything about it always makes me strive to be better. To achieve. To outdo myself.
Oh I wish you could feel my joy for this magnificent time of the year. I hope this mish-mash of a moodboard helps. (I know how much you love this kind of posts!)

Oh, and am I the only one who's a hot chocolate freak?

INSPO: 24/7

Thursday, October 25, 2012

This is a totally random so inspired post. One I will try to write in under an hour so I can watch Masterchef and my PMS's kicking in so food's always had a good nerve calming effect, even when it's virtual.
Why am I even telling you this? Oh yeah, it's that college means rain and rain means boredom and boredom means lack of creativity and lack of creativity means I kinda look like a nerd most of the time in my well-paired blazer & jeans combo. A chic nerd, I try to be, but still - nerds are nerds.
My life's pretty much a mish mash of everything and anything as I'm trying to establish myself in this new weird arena where I'm actually required to study and all of my friends are so busy I see them as much as when I'm out of the country. So for now (read: until the weekend when I'll make a robot to take my photos if necessary) this totally you'll-find-here-everything-you-need-right-now post will do.
Totally related to the post: I kind of realized I wanted to show you my obsessions with #1 jumpers, #2 cool jeans, and so unexpected #3 boots (shooooooes!!) while I was shopping with my mom a few days ago. When we were driving home, I told her: 'See, I totally grew up. Not a single dress in these bags. You proud?' (She was, that was a first)

And, just a quick but big thank you to all of you who left comments on the latest post. No, actually, to all who leave comments. Period.
You are all so amazing, and today I was going through a few last posts and realized how opinions differ amongst you, how appreciative you all are and how a lot of you click on every single post and leave adorable messages. Thank you thank you thank you x million.

XOXO,
Lucija

Fashionista crush: ERIKA BEARMAN

Sunday, August 12, 2012

Erika Bearman aka OscarPRGirl is the first person I started following on Twitter. A 29-year-old director of communications has it all.
What makes her the perfect Oscar de la Renta girl is her love for ballgown skirts (and who does these better than Oscar?!), her natural beauty and the ability to tweet, pin and post on Tumblr, FB and Instagram almost non-stop. Since 2010 she tweeted more than 10,000 times and what makes the whole thing interesting - she doesn't really keep her distance, but introduces herself personally while always representing the brand at its best. What I love most about the whole idea is the time of fashion week when all the stalkers get the inside scoop of the collection that is yet to be shown to the creme de la creme of fashion world.
She's the ultimate girl to look up to for all those younger than 25, and just the girl who just might make you want to quit your day job if you're a bit older.

But enough about my blabing about her - she's very well able to blab herself. (+ collages ;)

@OscarPRGirl: excuse me while I make this important call about a bikini
@OscarPRGirl:
or a real one. "@sartorialgirl: always wear your invisible crown."

@OscarPRGirl: home is where your clothes are.

@OscarPRGirl: I'm under the impression that if you like your outfit you can pretty much tackle anything.
@OscarPRGirl: there is no known cure for the fashion obsessed.

@OscarPRGirl: honestly if you can't wear a sequin bandeau I don't want to go.
@OscarPRGirl: do I have a dog? I don't even have a plant.
@OscarPRGirl: Oscar is playing bridge. he is going to call me back.

INSPO: Summer sales

Friday, June 22, 2012

Currently, my biggest obsession (and I believe I'm not the only one) are sales. I love the smell of freshly discounted garments waiting to be grabbed from the shelves, whether the virtual or real ones.
So, as I'm already spending too much time on too many shopping sites, I decided to do - drumroll - collages. But, instead of just throwing random pieces at you (like all the others, buahahaha) I put together three looks that I coulda & woulda wear all summer long.

Okay, let's go.

First look - Coffee in the city...
Well, I have been lusting after this dress since before it was on sale and I don't know who wouldn't fall in love with the laser cut out flowers. Gorgeous.
As it's summer and summer for me means simplicity, I kept it elegant, but a little edgy with the unordinary shoes and plastic earrings.

Dress - Juicy Couture via Shopbop, 149 dollars
Bag - Emilio Pucci via Net a porter, 1023 euros
Sunglasses - The Row via Asos, 133 euros
Shoes - Kook via Topshop, 35 pounds
Earrings - Asos, 3 euros

Second look - By the pool...
For me beachwear means print. Throw in some cool sunglasses. Pair canvas with white leather and throw on a sheer kaftan.
Et voila!

Bikini - Matthew Williamson via Net a porter, 110 euros
Sandals - Topshop, 20 pounds
Hat - Asos, 19 euros
Sunglasses - The Row via Asos, 133 euros
Kaftan - Charlie by Matthew Zink, 180 euros
Backpack - Kate Sharidan via Asos, 79 euros

Third look aka my favourite - Cocktails with girlfriends...
I am head over heels in love with this Karl blouse in b&w. The printed jeans pop paired with metallic bag and bracelets. + Black wedges and you're ready to party.

Blouse - Karl via Net a porter, 105 euros
Wedges - H&M, 25 pounds
Bracelets - Topshop, 5 pounds
Bag - Topshop, 15 pounds
Jeans - J Brand via Shopbop, 139 dollars

What are your favourites?

XOXO,
Lucija

What I talk about when I talk about weddings

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Yesterday I stummbled upon a photo of a Italian wedding - the bride wore a Valentino, and the groom Prada. My mind exploded with joy, excitement and "I wanna" thoughts all at once.  And so yet another obsession was born.

I don't know what kind of bride I wanna be - I did a little research and found out there happens to be a term "boho bride" among others. I closed the page immediately.
Too much information.
I thought a bride was a bride - okay, some love it classic, some a little bit modern. But you still have a wedding - rings, bouquets, pretty invitations, confetti/rice, gorgeous wedding dress... I try to picture it boho, but I just can't. Do they play The Killers instead of Sting for the first dance? Where does it happen? Are there bridesmaids?

Cause if there are no bridesmaids and a big fat gown - no no no no no.
Too much information.

Ohhh I'll have to think about it. Everything.
What about you?

XOXO,
Lucija

Fashionista crush: FAN BINGBING

Thursday, December 1, 2011

Sooooo, I have news.
I fell in love, again!! (Now you're thinking - OMG, she got engaged) (Or something like that) (Well, no, I did not) (If I did, there would be just the photo of the ring so you could be jelaous, ha!)
To put you out of your misery, it's another fashionista crush. (If I were any of my fashionista crushes, I would hire a body guard) (Seriously, so much love in tha room!!) (Yeah, I've gone gangsta)
I think one day somebody will have to put me into some kind of institution which deals with obsessions & crushes. I don't even know if that's possible, but I kind of think I need it.

Today, it's a Chinese actress and singer, Fan Bing Bing. (Just so you know, this post, as all the before and after this one is not really about someone I'm talking about, this time Fan Bing Bing, but actually me and how much I love asian culture - especially japanese and chinese - I mean, who doesn't want to get lost in the streets of Tokyo or sleep on the Great Wall of China?)
+
I have another crush - but I think you've all kind of realized this one already - collages.
I mean, how awesome are they? So pretty, with that shiny white background... (I gotta find myself a man, this is just wrong) And one of many flaws of Croatian education system is that we don't get to make any collages. So I get to (instead of studying phylosophy) make some for you.

Soooo,
as promised:
