Look of the day: DENIM ON DENIM

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

I've been in love with the combination of denim on denim for a long time now but never really tried it on - until today. I almost forgot about this skirt and while going through my closet this morning (had an insane rush of energy & was extremely hyper) (usually I'm cranky as hell) I found this pretty thing and it was like I saw my love again. Such a great feeling & it was such a great day today, too!! Haven't had one like this in ages. The only thing missing was some vintage shopping, I guess I'll leave that for tomorrow ;)

Oh, I'm wearing:
Topshop denim shirt, vintage skirt, H&M bag, Benetton blazer, Zara boots, Swatch watch, H&M bracelets, Ray Ban sunnies

XOXO,
Lucija

I HEART...

Thursday, March 15, 2012

I heart... well, I guess you realized the end of this sentence is EVERYTHING PINK. (You know, cause everything in the collage is pink, or same shade of pink) (in one word - pink)

As I gotta get to school early and it took me ages to do this, you are not getting much quack quack today, I'll just write down for you what is what in the collage.

Roberto Cavalli dress
YSL lipstick
Marni sunglasses
Topshop scarf
Alexander McQueen bracelet
Sonia Rykiel collar
Irene Neuwirth earrings
Elle Macphearson lingerie
Nicholas Kirkwood shoes (actually, it's a shoe) (I tried to put 2 of them, but looks somewhat better with just one)
Givenchy clutch

Amazed yet?!

XOXO,
Lucija

Look of the day: HELLO HOLLYWOOD

Monday, March 5, 2012

On Saturday my real birthday party finally took place - although the birthday was somehow celebrated 2 months later, we all agreed the party was one of the best we've ever been to. (I know you're all reading this - I love you so much)
The food was great (thanks mom, thanks dad, thanks the catering company), the wine was superb and the music was just too loud. Enough said, right?!

Once again I found my dress less than 24 hours before the party... After browsing through tons of clothes in several stores I walked into a vintage shop without any expectation and found this gorgeous dress. It was too long for my taste so I had it altered and I gotta say, I love how elegant it feels... So there's your explanation for the title ;)

Ohhhh, and to explain the photos - the lighting was perfect on Saturday afternoon + I had too much fun playing in Photoshop this time. These are probably my favourite photos for the blog up to now!!

XOXO,
Lucija

P.S.
I had a great idea for a while now for the feature you can see on the right side of the blog - it's called "I'm currently wearing" and using Instagram this way you'll always be updated on what I'm wearing at the moment, even if it doesn't end up in some of the posts... Cool, huh?
Just click on the photo to find me on Instagram ;)

Aaaaaand I'm wearing:
Vintage dress, gifted earrings and tiara (thank you sweeties!!), Topshop shoes, H&M pearl bracelet and vintage bracelet from Sarajevo

Look of the day: AFTER THE RAIN

Monday, February 27, 2012

There's no better feeling than stepping outside a car when the rain stops after pouring down for half an hour and suddenly, there's light and there's sun, but it's still a bit chilly. Just one of many reasons why I love love love spring. (Ohhhh, talking about spring, I can't explain to you how much I miss the sea - if only I had the time to go for a few days and shoot and just enjoy myself, ahhhh!!)
Okay, enough ramble jamble, I should get some sleep already - the time difference between The States and Croatia is killing me. (Oscars talk) (more ramble jamble)

Ohhh, I promise to do a post soon about how much I love/hate/prefer something (& as usually, mention about 20 different things, too)
Okay, now I really gotta go. See you soon!!

XOXO,
Lucija

P.S.
Wearing:
Zara gold sweater, Mexx jeans (addicted), La Redoute shoes (so much fun), my absolute favourite gold Lucija necklace (gifted), my friend's trench (it's Topshop) (I gotta get one for myself, it's amazing), Ray Ban sunnies, H&M bracelet, vintage watch

P.P.S.
One day I'm gonna forget.... hmmmm, possibilities (in in descending order of likelihood):
no.1 - to mention what I'm wearing
no.2 - to  publish the post (after writing it) (and just close the window) (totally amazed how this hasn't happened yet)
no.3 - to upload the photos (& then you'll all be like "what's she quacking about?!") (like you don't question that already)
no. 4 - to just forget about the whole post (although I have the outfit photos)
no. 5 - to forget to even shoot the outfit photos

If the last happens, round's on me everyone.

P.P.P.S.
I really don't know how this post got so long...

Look of the day: GREEN CAPE

Friday, February 24, 2012

I'm so happy the weather is so pretty today - it's sunny and warm and perfect for shorty shorts and simplicity in terms of easygoing pieces & bold colors.
Sooo, I present to you my green cape that is also, like many pieces in my closet, my design. My favourite part are the buttons, I love how "mettalic" they look!!

Wearing:
cape by me, Benetton shorts, Aldo shoes, Topshop bag, handmade necklace from Australia, Swarovski earrings

XOXO,
Lucija

P.S.
This is my 100th post which means a great deal to me because when I took up blogging, I never thought I would end up having people reading WLL daily - while drinking their coffee and browsing through newspapers or in the evening, as a treat at the end of the day. I still get so excited when somebody mentions WLL is in their bookmarks so I want to thank you all for stopping by!!
I am really grateful I get to share my passion with you!!

P.P.S.
Here's to another 100!! Cheers!

LFW RECAP

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Is it just me, or do the fashion week go by too darn fast? I can't believe everything's already moved to Milano, no time to waste!!
I gotta say, I loved London - from the, at least for me, unusal collection for Burberry, to great prints at Basso & Brooke. My favourites were the neon green at Acne, long silk blue dress at Temperley London and the great feather and lace dress at Matthew Williamson.
What are yours?!

XOXO,
Lucija

Look of the day: FUNNY THINGS

Wednesday, February 15, 2012

Okaaaaaaaaay, two things are on the menu today....

Thing no. 1
I am an impulsive shopper. Like, the day before yesterday, I walk into the Zara store and I see these perfect beige booties and I casually take a pair of my size (Anyone else so experienced they can define what size the shoes are just by looking at them?) (Yeah, yeah, shoes are my weakness) and think how I'm just gonna try them on - just to see. Result? Fifteen minutes later, at 8.30 pm, (while all the shop assistants are either casually chatting or cleaning or slowly getting ready to leave ASAP) I'm standing in front of the mirror in Zara desperately in love with them (Ohhhhh, the leather!!) (Ohhhhh, the color!!) (Ohhhhhh, the perfect heel!!) (Ohhhhh and look at my legs!!) and thinking about all the outfits they fit in. (= gazillion!!) My friend, who was initially looking for boots, comes to me after browsing the store and finding nothing (in the end, I found her a pair, too!!) (Just to feel less guilty) and says: OMG, they are so pretty!! I realise that must be a sign from God (who is actually saying I shall not wait) (& Buy. Them. Right. Now.) and decide I have to have them. Then I think how quickly things disappear from Zara stores (that's probably one of few things which I can't really think of an explanation for - totally bizzare) and end up walking out of Zara store, my wallet much thinner and feeling extatic.

Thing no. 2
(btw Thing no.1 and Thing no.2 totally remind me of Bananas in Pyjamas - remember that?!)
I think this whole thing is best to be told in retrospect. So, to begin with the ending - I end up wearing my new favourite boots the morning after.
There were several reasons for that. (& severe consequences, too)
I put them on my shelf just so I can stare at them every time I enter/leave my room. (Usually I stop, too, and take them in my hands and stare at them some more) (& people wonder why I'm always late!!)
The snow was starting to melt and in my street there were no traces of snow at all. (Well, if 'my street' means the few feet I see from my window)
When I woke up, I saw my denim shirt just waiting for me to wear it.
And there was nothing better than pairing it with the cute cute cute booties I just bought + there was no visible snow on the ground + if I wear them, I can occassionally look at them every five seconds the whole day.
See? No cons!!
Result? I end up nearly falling every two-three feet because there is still so much snow (and ice!!) (and sometimes that thing between snow and ice - yuck) on the ground it's horrifying + I walk so slow I even get on my own nerves + when I get home my feet hurt so much (because I was walking all day across the city in them) (& the shoes have never been worn before) I walk like I'm trying to shuffle, but am just bad at it. (+ I woke up today and my left foot was still kind of aching, but you never know - maybe I do karate kicks in my sleep)

THE END

XOXO,
Lucija

P.S.
I'm wearing the coat by me, Topshop shirt, H&M scarf, Mexx jeans, Zara boots and the bag originally from Accessorize but embellished by me

Look of the day: MOM'S POCKET WATCH

Thursday, February 9, 2012

I don't know what got into me, but today I found myself dreaming about spring. Totally dumbstruck, I looked around to see if anyone noticed I'm going nuts and than returned to my thoughts.
Only this wild cold can turn me into a crazy summer lover. (That's why the photos are once again taken in my house, it's absolutely impossible to take off all the layers everyone's wearing these days somewhere outside) (Too much wool for my taste, but noone even cares any more, if it's warm enough - that's it) (So you end up seeing too many ninja-likes on the streets - I can't decide what's the better name for that sort of people - Anonymous or Ninja?!) (So I end up using both, hilarious) (Not so much when I use 'so' so much - see?!) (You lost? Yeah, me too.)

Sooooo, (you should see me in person, all you hear are 'btws' and 'honeys') (one day I bet there'll be rehab for those sorts of things) in order to get myself back on track, I shall take some photos in the snow tomorrow or better said freeze to the point where my fingers stop aching and I feel nothing. (I almost wrote Toodles!, but it would be too much, right?) (Okay. Enough. Talking. Bye.)

XOXO,
Lucija

Ohhhh and I'm wearing:
Vintage jacket, shirt by me, Mexx jeans, H&M glitter socks, ALDO shoes, Topshop bag, Swarovski earrings & my mom's pocket watch.

Look of the day: BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

Monday, February 6, 2012

I won't tell you how much my toes hurt after this session, nor how frozen my fingers were. I think you can tell by the snow.
Forecast for tomorrow, for Croatia: -13°C. I guess I should go stare at my closet and figure out what to wear instead of 20 blankets I was covered with during the weekend.
Happy Monday everyone!!

Wearing:
Cardigan - H&M men, jeans - Mexx, cap - Topshop, leather gloves - Miss Selfridge, watch - men's Casio, booties - vintage

XOXO,
Lucija

MAGICAL AGE 18

Saturday, January 21, 2012

My week was more than busy. Actually, I'm not quite sure if it was busy or am I totally lazy. The holidays really spoiled me and on Monday, when I came to school, I couldn't believe it's on again.
Reality check.
Total reality check.
But at least this is the last semestr - after this, no more school. Just college. Totally grown up stuff.

Talking about grown-up stuff, I'm turning eighteen in ten days!! Which means that all I think about is the party guest list, chocolate cake and balloons. And gifts, of course.
So, as I was already spending so much time looking at pretty stuff I would like to get for my birthday, I realized I could as well do a collage and show you, too!!

Sooo, here's my dream list of dream gifts for my dream 18th birthday. See? Magical!!

Jimmy Choo shoes - the combination of feathers and pink? No further explanation needed.
Lanvin scarf - every girl loves diamonds. And diamond prints!!
Proenza Shouler bag - tribal elements are really my thing right now. Proenza shouler bags also.
D&G skirt - tule dress? Princess.
Acne leather jacket - retro. rock. chic.
Marni necklace - seriously amazing. & suits everything!!
Topshop dress - I mean, who doesn't want to look like a 50s dancer?!

XOXO,
Lucija
