Look of the day: REFLECTION

Monday, March 4, 2013

I had my doubts concerning how this 'city' outfit will look captured in the center of wilderness right in the heart of Zagreb, park Maksimir.
But looking at the photos now, I actually feel the vibe and the light in the photos is really great.
Also, my hair's curly here, not something you get to see every day!

This is my typical go-to outfit when I have both work and uni in the same day. My friends always make fun of how I have 10 pairs of shorts for winter time, while in summer I barely wear them at all.

*This last one is my favourite

Oh, and I'm wearing:
Zara jacket, Bershka shirt (I got it for my bday, I have to show you the back, it's gorgeous), tailored shorts, Humanic boots, Ray Ban sunglasses, DIY necklaces + the Eiffel tower one is from Rings and Tings

Laters!

XOXO,
Lucija

Look of the day: KARL

Monday, November 19, 2012

First things first - tomorrow is kind of a crucial day (Exam) (Oh, no, pardon me, exams) for me so let's all pray that it ends well. Thanks.

And now, let's get down to business: I had this idea about calling this look 'Alice in Wonderland' but I figured, although the venue was perfect and the amount of Photoshop used for the story was just about right, a dress was indeed needed, so I'll leave it for another time as the man on my chest was far more important than the whole lost-in-the-woods scheme.
For those who still haven't figured it out - it's Karl Lagerfeld. (As said in the title, and once again - clearly shown hanging around my neck) If you remember (and you should, cause Karl's an icon) (& when you look at it, a brand all by himself) this necklace was produced a year or so ago, at a price of Kenzo's right now it-sweaters.
So instead of forgetting about it, I decided to use my imagination and DIY. And it turned out amazing - since I'm not the DIY type so much. (Patience is not my thing)
Okay, let's move on. I bought these over-the-top Lana Del Rey H&M leggings a while ago (Well, actually, I bought them as soon as I saw the ad) (I even chased my size all over town) and then realized I don't have a sweater to wear them with. (Well, I have sweaters, but since I'm not that 'leggings are pants' kind of gal, I had to find a different kind of sweater)
So Sheinside sent me this cutie pie and now I'm all done. I'm lovin' the all-black thing vs. colored-splashed leggings.

And not to forget - what you're seeing today is my hair au naturale. (I think that's a first!) I usually straigten it or wear it in a ponytail/chignon/bun but today, for some unknown reason, stopped resisting and let it be. (And it's not even that bad)

Wearing:
Sheinside sweater, H&M leggings, Humanic boots, H&M hat, DIY necklace, tailored coat

XOXO,
Lucija

Look of the day: PINK SKIRT

Sunday, May 13, 2012

I am really sorry for the lack of posts this week, it's just that the finals are next week and I really don't have time. I can't wait until it's all over aka the real beginning of summer.
Now bout the look - I wore it a few days ago but didn't have time to do a post. This skirt is one of my favourite pieces, it was inspired by Jil Sander's SS 2011 collection. I love how I can wear it with loads of different things to bild up many looks.

Wearing:
Shirt and skirt - designed by me, Tommy Hilfiger flats, Dorothy Perkins bag

XOXO,
Lucija

P.S.
The heart in the last photo goes to all of you who visit and read the blog regularly. With love, Lucija is almost 9 months old!

Look of the day: SPARKLY SHOES

 THE TALE OF SPARKLY SHOES
You know, I love these shoes so much they deserve their tale to be told. (Ohhhh, I'm getting good at this) (You know, telling stories dramatically)
Soooo, when I was a little girl (and I gotta tell you, it's not that I remember that) (I can't remember what I had for dinner yesterday) (So, no, it's not possible for me to know what happened some time ago) (I hope they figure out the formulas for the pills soon) I used to do all sorts of things - jewerly, knits and stuff, some with my mom, some with my grandma, some alone or with friends. I also colored and painted way too much and always put up little shows for my family and they would sit through the whole show and then they were expected to aplaud me for ages - it was hilarious. (at least that's what I'm told)
So, to sum up (you weren't expecting me to say that ever, right?!), I was a creative little person. As I am very very very busy trying to be as smart as possible and shoot as many photos as possible and do as much great posts as possible (I do loads of stuff, yep) I cannot do all those things, but when I get tired of the same  shops in Croatia & after I realize most of my favourite online shops don't ship to Croatia (which happens frequently), I decide to DIY. (actually it's Do It Myself, but it would just look weird)
These shiny/sparkly/glittery/pretty/awesome shoes were a project I was working on for a loooooong time. (The amount of the letter o I put in there is not merely enough) After I was done, I had serious back pains + could quote all the episodes of season 1 Grey's Anatomy + had sequins and several needles all over my bedroom floor. But, I was also insanely happy because these shoes, 2 years later, are still my favourite.

And this post is also special because this is the first time you get to see some spontaneous photos in the post - if you haven't realized it yet, no. 3 & 5...  So, that how I act normally. How says I'm being all serious all the time now? Ha?! ;)

Wearing:
H&M top and bag, Benetton blazer and shorts, shoes by me

Have an amazing weekend everybody!!

XOXO,
Lucija

Look of the day: FLORAL JACKET

Sunday, March 11, 2012

When I think of spring, my first association somehow are flowers. Not in the regular style - you know, a bouquet of pretty somethings (I only know how tulips and roses look like, so no, I'm not a flower type of girl) (And just so you know, I'd always choose tulips) (And if the previous statement didn't disappoint you enough, I'd choose dark purple ones) (With every post I realize a bit more how impeccably classy I am!!), but in terms of clothing and colors which are so much prettier in the spring. Yeah, yeah, it's always nice to see a bright pink coat in the middle of the winter (Hint hint hint: ME ME ME), but if you think color - you think spring and summer.
And when I think color, I always think the floral pieces in my closet. Okay, there is not much of them there, but I love how special they feel when I put them on... So, in this post I'm featuring my favourite jacket which I bought in London sometime ago - I love wearing black with it.

Wearing:
H&M jacket, Zara top, shorts by me, Aldo bag & shoes, Accessorize earrings, Ray Ban sunnies

XOXO,
Lucija

Look of the day: GREEN CAPE

Friday, February 24, 2012

I'm so happy the weather is so pretty today - it's sunny and warm and perfect for shorty shorts and simplicity in terms of easygoing pieces & bold colors.
Sooo, I present to you my green cape that is also, like many pieces in my closet, my design. My favourite part are the buttons, I love how "mettalic" they look!!

Wearing:
cape by me, Benetton shorts, Aldo shoes, Topshop bag, handmade necklace from Australia, Swarovski earrings

XOXO,
Lucija

P.S.
This is my 100th post which means a great deal to me because when I took up blogging, I never thought I would end up having people reading WLL daily - while drinking their coffee and browsing through newspapers or in the evening, as a treat at the end of the day. I still get so excited when somebody mentions WLL is in their bookmarks so I want to thank you all for stopping by!!
I am really grateful I get to share my passion with you!!

P.P.S.
Here's to another 100!! Cheers!

Look of the day: MINIMALISM

Monday, February 20, 2012

I don't think I could ever stop wearing this LBD.
And come to think of it, I almost didn't buy it when I was in Vienna during the Christmas holidays. We were in such a rush (we wanted to visit the market or to be precise, we wanted to eat pancakes and buy candy) and I remember trying it on in the middle of the store and thinking: "Oh, what the heck, it's on sale!!"
And come to think of it no.2, this is probably the most-worn garnment in my closet, and a few hours ago, when I was browsing through my granma's closet, I found a perfect blazer to be worn with this in spring. Gorgeous!!

Wearing:
H&M dress, Zara boots, coat by me, Dorothy Perkins bag, Forever 21 necklace, vintage watch, vintage ring

XOXO,
Lucija

Look of the day: FUNNY THINGS

Wednesday, February 15, 2012

Okaaaaaaaaay, two things are on the menu today....

Thing no. 1
I am an impulsive shopper. Like, the day before yesterday, I walk into the Zara store and I see these perfect beige booties and I casually take a pair of my size (Anyone else so experienced they can define what size the shoes are just by looking at them?) (Yeah, yeah, shoes are my weakness) and think how I'm just gonna try them on - just to see. Result? Fifteen minutes later, at 8.30 pm, (while all the shop assistants are either casually chatting or cleaning or slowly getting ready to leave ASAP) I'm standing in front of the mirror in Zara desperately in love with them (Ohhhhh, the leather!!) (Ohhhhh, the color!!) (Ohhhhhh, the perfect heel!!) (Ohhhhh and look at my legs!!) and thinking about all the outfits they fit in. (= gazillion!!) My friend, who was initially looking for boots, comes to me after browsing the store and finding nothing (in the end, I found her a pair, too!!) (Just to feel less guilty) and says: OMG, they are so pretty!! I realise that must be a sign from God (who is actually saying I shall not wait) (& Buy. Them. Right. Now.) and decide I have to have them. Then I think how quickly things disappear from Zara stores (that's probably one of few things which I can't really think of an explanation for - totally bizzare) and end up walking out of Zara store, my wallet much thinner and feeling extatic.

Thing no. 2
(btw Thing no.1 and Thing no.2 totally remind me of Bananas in Pyjamas - remember that?!)
I think this whole thing is best to be told in retrospect. So, to begin with the ending - I end up wearing my new favourite boots the morning after.
There were several reasons for that. (& severe consequences, too)
I put them on my shelf just so I can stare at them every time I enter/leave my room. (Usually I stop, too, and take them in my hands and stare at them some more) (& people wonder why I'm always late!!)
The snow was starting to melt and in my street there were no traces of snow at all. (Well, if 'my street' means the few feet I see from my window)
When I woke up, I saw my denim shirt just waiting for me to wear it.
And there was nothing better than pairing it with the cute cute cute booties I just bought + there was no visible snow on the ground + if I wear them, I can occassionally look at them every five seconds the whole day.
See? No cons!!
Result? I end up nearly falling every two-three feet because there is still so much snow (and ice!!) (and sometimes that thing between snow and ice - yuck) on the ground it's horrifying + I walk so slow I even get on my own nerves + when I get home my feet hurt so much (because I was walking all day across the city in them) (& the shoes have never been worn before) I walk like I'm trying to shuffle, but am just bad at it. (+ I woke up today and my left foot was still kind of aching, but you never know - maybe I do karate kicks in my sleep)

THE END

XOXO,
Lucija

P.S.
I'm wearing the coat by me, Topshop shirt, H&M scarf, Mexx jeans, Zara boots and the bag originally from Accessorize but embellished by me
